Moving to Corcoran
Corcoran welcomes you and your family to this quaint little city. Located in Minnesota's northwestern party of the state, Corcoran is a small-town tucked away from the big city lifestyle. Corcoran residents are just minutes away from the big cities via Interstate 694 and are surrounded by many beautiful parks and lakes.
Corcoran belongs to several different school districts including the Osseo Independent School District #279. The Osseo ISD serves thousands of children and range from grades pre-K to 12th grade. There are 17 elementary schools for grades K-5th, four junior high schools for grades sixth through eighth and four high schools for grades ninth through twelfth. Corcoran places a great deal of importance on keeping the city clean and responsible. There is a very strict and hassle free recycling plan in place. All recyclables should be placed curbside before 7:00a.m. If containers are not sorted properly they will not be accepted. Recycling dates are listed on the website or you can call 1-800-450-9378 and usually run every other week. For materials other then the basic recycling, contact the Hennepin County Environmental Services at (612) 348-3777.
Corcoran offers residents the use of its beautiful Civic Center for parties, wedding and others as needed basis. The Civic Center can seat up to 150 people for any banquet type style, there is a full commercial kitchen and even a professional caterer available, as well as an audio and visual system. The renter must make a reservation with a $50.00 deposit or 50% of the fee, and must sign a lease agreement with the city. The residents of Corcoran enjoy participating in a wide variety of events such as the Athletic Association that participate in a variety of sports and activities. To join the Corcoran Athletic Association, call (763) 923-4154. There is also the Northwest Trails Association consisting of committed snowmobilers. They meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30p.m. at the Medina Entertainment Center.
